About the GB57 Microphone
The GB57 is a super versatile microphone, and therefore can be used in studios and on stage, as it has a sound characteristic that can be applied to various instruments and vocals. The GB57 Cardioid Dynamic Microphone has an audio transformer at its output to balance the signal. Its body is made of metal and its connection is of the balanced XLR type. We recommend using balanced cables with the GB57 and not activating the 48V Phantom Power under any circumstances.
Difference between having and not having an audio transformer
In addition to balancing the signal, the output transformer has other positive points.
While the GB57 is balanced (Hot, Cold, Gnd), many other microphones of the same style are unbalanced and do not have an output transformer, and this is a point that explains a lot of the price difference.
The audio transformer is important especially when the cables used are longer, as the transformer prevents signal loss and also does not generate noise.
