About the AL32 EQ
The AL32 EQ is an advanced Baxandall Active Solid State EQ, meticulously designed to provide precise equalization during recording, mixing and mastering.
This extraordinary piece of equipment features selectable bands that can be switched between LOW/MID and MID/HI modes.
Each mode offers four distinct positions, ranging from low to high:
LOW/MID (40Hz, 100Hz, 250Hz, 2k5Hz). MID/HI (500Hz, 1kHz, 3kHz, 12kHz).
For each mode, the AL32 EQ has individual controls to attenuate (ATTEN) or add (BOOST) gain at each selected frequency. This flexibility allows you to achieve a wide range of sounds, from the deepest bass to the brightest highs.
In addition to the equalization controls, the equipment incorporates a GAIN knob, adjusting the overall gain of the device in the OpAmp output stage. The True Bypass function, activated by a dedicated switch, offers an option for direct signal passage without interference. The inputs and outputs of the AL32 EQ are balanced (XLR), ensuring a high-quality audio flow. The input is electronically balanced with the best ICs available today. The output is balanced by a high-performance audio transformer from Greenbox, not only providing balance to the signal, but also adding a smooth coloration and a velvety sound. The AL32 EQ equalization is of the Baxandall type, operating as a Shelf wave: In LOW/MID Mode, the wave extends to all frequencies below the selected band. In MID/HI Mode, the wave extends to all frequencies above the selected band. Frequency response graphs are available below, illustrating the effectiveness and accuracy of the AL32 EQ in shaping the desired sound spectrum.
