Description

About the GB-487 Condenser Microphone
We designed the GB-487 inspired by two classic circuits: U47 FET and U87.
We added some modifications and upgrades to bring these two classics together. For this project, we used an RK-87 cardioid capsule, within the same standards as the U87. With this, the microphone can present the same sonority as the U87, but together with the circuit upgrade, it also carries the nuances of the U47 FET.
The main purpose of this circuit upgrade is to make the microphone's timbre softer at high SPL levels, making the sound more balanced and transparent. The other purpose of this upgrade is to make high-pitched signals less sibilant, providing greater control over vocals and other higher-pitched sound sources. Consequently, we have here a differentiated microphone, with a more accurate appearance and a superior sonority. Equipped with a nano transformer, the GB-487 achieves unparalleled sound purity, free from any noise.
Its body is super robust, made entirely of steel, with high-quality 3-layer paint and a special semi-gloss varnish.

The GB-487 microphone has a very velvety sound characteristic when used for vocals.
With string instruments, the GB-487 performs magnificently well, capturing all the nuances of the instrument, making the sound soft and very clear.
In addition to being able to be used for vocals and string instruments, the GB-487 performs very well in countless other situations, whether in the drum room, overheads and a multitude of other instruments.
