About the EQG-1945
We are excited to introduce the EQG-1945, our extraordinary solid state equalizer; a true work of art inspired by the qualification of the legendary Pultec EQP-1A.
For this solid state version, we have added an all-discrete operational amplifier, model CB-1945, developed by us. This operational amplifier is extremely quiet and provides a very velvety coloration with a lot of presence!
As an all-discrete circuit, the EQG-1945 does not use any integrated circuits.
Every detail has been meticulously designed to capture the essence of this classic, providing an authentic sound experience, in the solid state version.
The audio transformers, carefully designed with the same characteristics as the original Pultec, ensure that the signal integrity is preserved from the beginning to the end of the audio stream. The equalization controls, identical to the Pultec EQP-1A, have been improved with two options for the bass frequencies (25Hz and 80Hz), offering the flexibility to attenuate or add gain in these ranges, something not present in the original model. In addition, the ATTEN SEL selector now includes the 3kHz frequency, providing an even more versatile sound palette.
Surprisingly, our EQG-1945 goes beyond the Pultec EQP-1A by including a gain knob on the back of the unit, providing additional control and making it even more complete. This equalizer is not just a reproduction, but an evolution, offering additional possibilities to elevate your mixes and recordings.
The inductors we use in the EQG-1945 are custom-made by MGS for Greenbox. The inductors are precision-engineered so that all equipment has the same sound.
